Talking about the "things that matter most" on Oct. 2

4:00 – Supreme Court Term Begins This Week: Many Important Cases on the Docket
The nation is now focused on the presidential election, but attention will likely shift back to the court after the November vote. A new term opens on Monday and the nine justices will address another potentially historic docket. Affirmative action, same-sex marriage, voting rights, and abortion could be taken up. Law Professor Pat Gillen gives us an overview of this term for the Court.

4:40 – Kresta Comments – Are Abortion and Unjust War on the Same Level?

5:00 – Abandoned: The Untold Story of the Abortion Wars
Every day, thousands of children fragile, innocent, alone are abandoned. They are brutally snuffed from the world and literally left in the trash . . . and it's all legal. Since 1976, Monica Miller has made it her life's work to defend the unborn: she has counseled pregnant women outside of abortion clinics and organized pro-life groups and sit-ins at many of those same clinics. She has blocked abortionists cars, been arrested, and gone to jail. And she has pulled the bodies of thousands of unborn babies out of dumpsters and given them a proper burial. Monica is here to tell the true-life tale of life and death, and a plea for the protection of the most helpless and innocent members of the human family.

  1. Catholics, I cannot do YOUR thinking and YOUR homework for YOU – to vote for Romney is to vote FOR the Culture of Death, and FOR more UNJUST WARS.

    Shame on you for voting for DEATH, because you are motivated by FEAR of Muslims – you have been – and are being – DUPED by the ENEMY – SATAN – who disguises himself as an angel of light and uses Scripture to fool you.

    Wake up! Please and thank you!

    According to Catholic moral theology, WAR IS LAWFUL ONLY WHEN ALL FOUR OF THESE CRITERIA ARE MET…

    1) It is declared by legitimate authority;

    2) It is just; that is, is waged for a just motive, such as re-establishing justice when offended, repairing an injury or defending oneself against aggression;

    3) It is inevitable; that is, when all other peaceful means of obtaining justice and of obtaining redress have failed;

    4) It is useful; insofar as it is likely that the advantages obtained will outweigh the damages suffered.

    NONE OF AMERICA’S OR NATO’S WARS HAVE MET THESE FOUR CRITERIA = AFGHANISTAN, IRAQ, LIBYA, SYRIA, OR IRAN. WAR WAS/IS NOT JUSTIFIED IN ANY OF THESE CASES, ACCORDING TO CHRISTIAN MORAL THEOLOGY.
