5:00 – What Catholic Women Think About Faith, Conscience, and Contraception
A recent report entitled “What Catholic Women !ink About Faith, Conscience, and Contraception,” offers new data about the views of church-going Catholic women towards contraception and related Church teachings—views that present both a challenge and an opportunity for the Church. The data confirms that most Catholic women do not fully support the Church’s teachings on contraception and natural family planning. However, Catholic women who regularly participate in the Church’s sacramental life (Mass and Confession) agree with the teachings on contraception and family planning in significantly higher numbers than women overall. The author of the report, Mary Hasson, joins us.

  1. Al, Excellent commentary on the Bishop Finn coverage. I think the front page coverage of this event says much more about the NYT and KCS papers than it does about Bishop Finn or the Church. If these papers really cared about child abuse, they would have daily exposes of perpetrators of all stripes, particularly public schools and personnel. The fact that they do not shows that their agenda is to smear the Catholic Church, not to expose and reduce child abuse. Their hypocrisy is obvious and disgusting. That's another reason that many like myself have lost all respect for the mainstream media.
